TOUR PROGRAM:
Day 1: Flight for Uzbekistan.
Arrival in Tashkent You will be met by your personal guide and driver and will be transferred to the hotel. Note: your guide will be waiting for you outside the airport, at the main waiting area.
Day 2: Tashkent
Tashkent is the capital of Uzbekistan and considered as the biggest city of Central Asia. Tashkent has a modern and a small old part. The old Tashkent has typical monuments of Silk Road architecture. Today you will visit both parts of the city. Attend a master cooking class at Tashkent’s Taste of Plov, where expert chef/instructors lead a hands-on lesson in purchasing and preparing classic Uzbek dishes; then dine together on your creations. Welcome Dinner. Overnight in Tashkent. Recommended foods: Tashkent Plov, Naryn.
Day 3: Tashkent- Samarkand
After an early morning breakfast join your guide and take the high speed train to legendary Samarkand, one of the most ancient cities of the Silk Road.
On arrival, visit Registan Square, the main attraction here and an impressive venue for the world’s finest traditional and modern music festivals; Gur-emir- mausoleum of Temur (Tamerlane). Recommended foods: Shashlik (kebab), Dolma, Tandir Kebab, Samsa.
Day 4: Samarkand
Visit the majestic Shakhi Zinda Ensemble, observatory og Ulugh Beg, Samarkand Silk Paper Workshop and the Bibi Khanum mosque standing next to the colorful Samarkand Siab Bazaar. Experience cooking traditional Uzbek dishes. This culinary tour is a unique opportunity to taste, smell and savor the rich flavors not found anywhere else, a true product of centuries of exchange along the Silk Road. Dinner.
Option: you can visit the theatre El Merosi for enjoying the show of traditional costumes of Central Asia.Recommended foods: Laghman, Manti, Shorva.
Day 5: Bukhara
Sightseeing day drive to Bukhara through the Malikchul desert and Zerafshan River. Stop by a medeival Caravan Serai Gate Raboti Malik and the Gijduvan Ceramic Workshop. Arrival in Bukhara. Accommodation at hotel and visit the ancient Bukhara at the Labi Khaus Complex, heart of the city. Dinner in a traditional Bukharan restaurant. Recommended foods: Navruz Kebab, Lula Kebab, Olot Somsa, Koza Shorva.
Day 6: Bukhara
After breakfast you will visit the old Bukhara: Ark citadel, Ismail Samani and Chashma- Ayub Mausoleums, Kalon Architectural complex, Trade centers of old Bukhara. Lunch in a traditional restaurant. Dinner will be with a local family where you will see the preparation of “Manti -Dumplings”. Recommended foods: Jiz Kebab, Dimlama, Noodle Soup.
Day 7: Bukhara-Khiva
Breakfast. Drive to Khiva through the Kyzilkum Desert, the main Silk Road route of the caravans. On the road you will stop at a road tea house for having a lunch and you will stop for seeing a beautiful panoramic view of the Amu Darya (Oxus River), one of the biggest rivers of Central Asia. Arrival in Khiva. Dinner in a traditional local restaurant. Recommended foods: Tukhum Barak, Pumpkin Soup, fresh fried fish.
Day 8: Khiva
Today we will explore the Ichan-Kala –inner citadel of Khiva. You will live a 4 hour trip for discovering the most important monuments of the citadel. Khiva is the only citadel which was not destroyed by enemy armies and it will take you to a Time Travel with its 250+ monuments protected by the State and the UNESCO. Recommended foods:
Qiyma- Minced Kebab, Shivit Oshi
Day 9: Khiva – Tashkent
Flight to Tashkent.
After arrival you will be transferred to your hotel (Note: the check-in at hotel is after 14:00). Free time in Tashkent. Farewell Dinner.
Day 10: Departure
Transfer from your hotel to Tashkent International airport
